Are you an unemployed or underemployed individual of the age 50 or older looking to improve your job prospects?

NEXT ACT will assist unemployed and underemployed older persons with a combination of job coaching and job placement with local companies looking for professional workers.

“Next Act is in concert with our mission to provide services to older adults,” said Jay Van Winkle, Executive Director of SSNK. “The 50+ generation brings valuable skills and experience needed for the growth and development of our region resulting in stronger, more desirable communities to work and live. This initiative is the first of many new programs we will be adding to meet more of the needs of our senior population. It is an exciting time for SSNK.”  -  PR 11/10/14

NEXT ACT will kick off Nov. 18, 2014, with a program from 8:30 a.m. to noon at Gateway Community and Technical College in Florence. Speakers will include HR managers from top Greater Cincinnati employers, and workers who have found new, rewarding careers in middle age. Former WCPO Channel 9 news anchor Clyde Gray will serve as moderator for the program. - PR 11/10/14

“Initially we will be focusing on getting 50+ workers back into the workforce, in jobs that offer meaning and satisfaction,” said NEXT ACT Program Manager Mariann Dunn. “Soon, we will be expanding our program to help people find purpose in their lives through work and community engagement. That could mean finding a new career, starting their own businesses, or volunteering for local organizations.” PR 11/10/14
